What do's a (X-black LCD with double lamp technology) do? X-black LCD with double lamp technology wot is it ?
what do's it do?
how isit better? Peter K replied: "It is just a way of making the contrast and brightness greater than normal."
nlcluigi replied: "Is a technology who achieve 105% of RGB space coverage. Not only brighter or more contrast. Vivid too.
And I not say greater than normal. If we say that we have a very poor normal.
With Double lamp technology we see the colors normal and no washed out.
I recommend you to take a look at the Sony Vaio FW11S. Pay attention ... not FW11E, not FW11M. Only FW11S. You'll be amazed.
The same thing is in the Sony AR61S.
An potent competitor will be HP 8730W with DreamColor LCD witch have RGB backlight LED.... but not yet out in the market. It will be in 1 month.
So until then, we will have in terms of color fidelity: Double lamp from Sony and Backlight white LED from LG (I think that this one use Apple)." What is LAMP technology? I heard about LAMP from my friend few days back. What is it exactly? Eval666 replied: "Ehm... this?:)"
Mad Tech replied: "LAMP technology is used to build website applications which uses PHP language.
In order to run PHP scripts, one must install APPACHE server in LYNUX environment. MY SQL database will support for PHP applications.
LAMP is nothing but:
L for LYNUX
A for APPACHE
M for MY SQL
P for PHP"

It is a web server configuration, and the most efficient.
(WAMP) is the same, but on a server running Windows (more expensive, full of bugs and slow)"
Horny & Single :P replied: "LAMP technology can drive Web applications, and although it is powerful, is also comparatively simple and easy to use.
Individually, Linux, Apache Web server, MySQL database, Perl, Python or PHP are each a powerful component in its own right. The key to the idea behind LAMP, a term originally coined by Michael Kunze in the German magazine c't in 1998, is the use of these items together. Although not actually designed to work together, these open source software alternatives are readily and freely available. This has lead to them often being used together. In the past few years, their compatibility and use together has grown and been extended. Certain extensions have even been created specifically to improve the cooperation between different components.
Today, the products that make up the LAMP stack are included by default in nearly all Linux distributions, and together they make a powerful Web application platform.
Benefits:
Flexibility: There are no limits to what you can do with the LAMP stack, either technically or because of licensing restrictions. This allows you the flexibility to build and deploy applications in a method that suits you, not the supplier of the technology you are using.
Customization: Because LAMP components are open source, they have built up a huge array of additional components and modules that provide additional functionality. The open source approach enables you to do the same, customizing components and functionality to suit your needs.
Ease of Development: You can write powerful applications using LAMP technology in relatively few lines of code. Often the code is straightforward enough that even nonprogrammers can modify or extend the application.
Ease of Deployment: With neither licensing issues nor the need to compile applications, deployment is often as easy as copying an application to a new host. Most hosting services provide LAMP-based environments as standard, or they can be deployed using a Linux distribution, such as Fedora or Debian.
Security: With many eyes developing the software and years of use by a wide range of users and community groups, LAMP technology is secure and stable. Problems are normally fixed very quickly, and without the need for a costly support contract.
Community and Support: A wide and experienced group of people is willing to provide help and support during the development and deployment of LAMP-based applications.

Mehdi replied: "Horny & Single's answer is a straight copy/paste from here:
In short, LAMP is not a "technology", but a collection of programs that would normally have to be installed separately in order to have a working test web server environment, created for a Linux computer.
The collection has been put together to make the installation of the web server components faster and easier."

We have built a social community website like youtube, facebook etc. Can you please suggest what kind of hosting plan should we host on. We have developed the site using LAMP Technologies. I have about 40 commercial games and have no problem with any of them on my desktop unit.
BUT then...
I had a problem with Neverwinter Nights (Diamonf Edition).
It would not load, even after making it compatible with previous versions of Windows.
What to do?
I loaded it into my new laptop (HP Entertainment) and voila...
it worked!!!
Why?
It seems that the laptop is 64-bit, the desktop is 32-bit.
Summary: If your laptop is 64-bit, I see no problem with any game or application you may have, I would say that your comp. seems pretty durn good.
;-)"
Ali360 replied: "It should run games very well.
I have a 2.6 GHz (Single Core) PC with 768MB 800MHz ram and a Nvidia GeForce FX5200 128MB. It runs the latest games well on medium settings.
Some of the most important factors are the CPU Bus Speed, Ram Speed, Ram Memory(MB) and the Graphics Card. And yours is MUCH better than mine.
PS: The Graphic Card is much more important than the CPU, when playing games.
However, I would have got a AMD CPU as they are better value for speed and they have a better bus as the CPU directly connects to the RAM, ulike Intel ones which connects through a Bridge (another chip). Even if Intel chips are better, get a AMD and spend the extra mony on a better graphics card. It's worth it." How well will my new laptop do with the latest games please? I basically want some idea about how much salary can I expect in the appraisal. So I am giving some details below. It may be a little long so if u have patience then only read. And please read it full and give ur opinion or suggestions whatever:-
- I have done B.tech in ECE from an NIT (National Institute of Technology).
- I joined this company as a fresher (trainee s/w engg) with a salary of 8000 pm for the first 3 months and 11000 pm for the next 9 months, with a bond of 1 year (certificates with them).
- I was the 2nd employee when I joined and now there are a total of almost 18 emloyees (joined in the period of 9 months). So ours is a fast growing company.
- I have been into web development (side by side designing too ) on LAMP technology, PHP frameworks, Javascript frameworks, AJAX etc. ...
- Have been into projects most of the time. Was the team lead also in the last project (team size 3).
- Although it is recession time currently but in our company it hardly feels like that. Almost everybody is into projects and on an average 2-3 employees are being hired every month. (Most of our clients are not from US. Mostly UK, Australia, one from India).
- The senior most employee in our company gets a salary of more than 25000 per month. But will get a good hike this time because he was sent to UK for a week to collect details of a project. This is among the biggest projects so far and the first one for which an employee was sent abroad and I am also in the team of 5, currently working on it (In Bangalore).
- Another employee who joined almost with me (salary was same as me, 8000, 11000 and a bond of 1 yr) - his appraisal procedure is complete and has been offered a package of 2.4 lpa, to which he replied he expected more than 3. Our PM (Project manager - Our PM is the co-owner of the company) replied to him - OK we will let u know.
- He (who joined with me) says, I will also get a salary offer like that only and I feel he is correct but I want a little more than that.
If any more info is required:-
- I have always been serious in my work and worked on a few weekends also when it was required.
- And yes I too did some mistakes. Although my spoken communication is also very good but once while I had to finish my part of work (because I was going home in the middle of a project), my PM called me on phone to ask me the status. And I had a terrible link failure that day because I was too much stressed due to working entire day. I could not say a single meaningful word about the current status. It was very embarrassing. To make the situation better I went to office next day and completed some of the tasks.
But even after that they have let me communicate directly with clients (both spoken and email).
- And in the next project only I was the team lead. She told me that our client was happy with the overall quality of development in that project.
Now I think that was too much of info. Thanks for reading it full. I hope my PM does'nt read this. Now, my personal meeting with PM is due next week. My relation with her has otherwise been very cordial.
Please give me some basic tips or some common mistakes I need to avoid. I badly want a salary of 25000 pm (in hand). I hope she is going to say we are offering u a package of this much... are u happy with that? Suggest me some good negotiation tips. How do I ask for more in that case? Madhan replied: "Hi,
i have read all the contents , really though to answer..
but i feel u need to prove your importance of ur presence to the higher authority. later u can ask ur incentive directly... if it was large org they will provide by the experince and all but since the concern with small they will be try to costing reasonable so impress them .. All the best" Is it a good PC for video Editing? Recently, thinking to buy all-in-one Sony LN1M pc. No it cost me 1400 pounds 2 years ago Jerry J replied: "$300-350"
Matt replied: "it must of cost you $600 or $700 right? then just half that. If no scratches on screen, half of what you paid. Even if you paid $1000, then sell for $500, just half what you bought for."
Gumby replied: "1400 Pounds?!?!?
Then Id suggest trying to sell for ~$1000 - 1200 .
As long as its in good shape you should be able to get this or even more.
Upgrading?
Good luck.
